About the 2009 vintage |
|
This year had a relatively normal weather
pattern, without excessive heat or rain flooding. Zsuzsanna
Vineyard is steep with south exposure, implying that a normal
year with moderate heat with some frequent light rain is
the best. Consequently the sugar
stayed on reasonable level until the grapes were obtaining
a mellow ripeness. The acidity were on a healthy and preferred
level for the Riesling but, as usual, a bit low for the
Pinot Gris.
After a serious evaluation, and
considering 2009 being the vintage between the excellent
2008 and the mind-boggling 2010, the quality of the 2009
is not up to standard.
Not any 2009 Villa Sandahl wines
will be released on the market. We are really sorrow for
this.
