About the 2010 vintage |
|
The Villa Sandahl 2010 vintage is
made under much better conditions then ever before, and
the real break through for Villa Sandahl. The vinification
is performed in the brand new Bazaltbor winery situated only some
hundred meters from Villa Sandahl. The winemaker at
Bazaltbor is Bakó Ambrus, a serious genius with passion
for quality and natural winemaking. Despite the poor 2010
cold and wet autumn, Villa Sandahl is again taking an
unbelievable big leap upwards in quality, which were
already very high from the 2008 vintage. |
|
To celebrate the tremendous 2010
wines, Villa Sandahl has changed the label graphics.
From 2010 and onwards, every wine and vintage will have a new unique
label, that is designed from what happen to appear in the
heads at bottling time. This first vintage with
individual design is dedicated to the unavoidable
Hungarian stamp and to the Swedish pedantic medicine recipe. |

Note that our top quality wines must
be tasted warmer then is usually considered for white
wines. We recommend a temperature not below 15 Co,
so don't serve our wines directly from a 4 Co
refrigerator (if they are supposed to be drunk
immediately from the glasses). Also note that our wines
are very useful to food, see the
Wine and Food page. |

2010 The Stamp |
|
 |
|
The stamp is made of Riesling grapes
from the Genesis (former Zsuzsanna) vineyard and from
the top juice fraction at pressing. It is a wine
for connoisseurs that want fresh but soft acidity, and
barely detectable sugar. The purity and richness i
spectacular, and gives the wine an 'electric' feeling in
the mouth. Note that our top quality wines must be
tasted warmer then is usual for white wines. We
recommend a temperature not below 15 Co, so
don't serve our wines directly from a 4 Co
refrigerator. Colour:
Medium, youthful yellow.
Smell: The smell is full of
citrus, lime, honey, dried fruit and minerals. The
elegant acidity is laser sharp and electric. The smell
has not yet opened up, but is absolutely promising.
Taste: The taste is rich and full,
still young and a bit raw, but with high potential to
improve with bottle ageing. The after taste is very long
and wonderfully free from any kind of bitterness.
Judgement: This wine is a monster
in superlative characters. It is a bit closed for the moment, but will
blossom in a couple of years and last for a good decade. |
Analysis:
Alcohol: 13.9 %
Sugar: 4,7 g/l
Acidity: 8,1 g/l
Vol.acid: 0.6 g/l

2010 Recept |
|
 |
|
Recept is made from the same grapes
as the stamp, but from a lesser refined juice fraction.
It is a bit sweeter and earlier
accessible than the stamp.
Colour: Medium, youthful yellow.
Smell: The quality is extremely
satisfying, making the smell pure and nicely accessible.
The character is elegant and crisp, with a small and
wonderful addition of botrytis.
Taste: This taste has a fresh
acidity and some balancing residual sugar to attract the
core customer segment.
Judgement: It is a bold and
dramatic wine, accessible for immediate consumption or
storing it for 5 years. |
