Vintage 2010
About the vintage
The Villa Sandahl 2010 vintage is made under much better conditions then ever before, and the real break through for Villa Sandahl. The vinification is performed in the brand new Bazaltbor winery situated only some hundred meters from Villa Sandahl. The winemaker at Bazaltbor is Bakó Ambrus, a serious genius with passion for quality and natural winemaking. Despite the poor 2010 cold and wet autumn, Villa Sandahl is again taking an unbelievable big leap upwards in quality, which were already very high from the 2008 vintage.
Note that our top quality wines must be tasted warmer then is usually considered for white wines. We recommend a temperature not below 15 °C, so don't serve our wines directly from a 4 °C refrigerator (if they are supposed to be drunk immediately from the glasses).
Labels
To celebrate the tremendous 2010 wines, Villa Sandahl has changed the label graphics. From 2010 and onwards, every wine and vintage will have a new unique label, that is designed from what happen to appear in the heads at bottling time. This first vintage with individual design is dedicated to the unavoidable Hungarian stamp and to the Swedish pedantic medicine recipe. (Click on the labels to get high resolution images).
Rhine Riesling 'The Stamp'
The stamp is made of Riesling grapes from the Genesis (former Zsuzsanna) vineyard and from the top juice fraction at pressing. It is a wine for connoisseurs that has fresh but soft acidity, and barely detectable sugar. The purity and richness i spectacular, and gives the wine an 'electric' feeling in the mouth.

Rhine Riesling 'Recept'
Recept is made from the same grapes as the stamp, but from a lesser refined juice fraction. It is a bit sweeter and earlier accessible than the long-lasting 'the stamp'.
