From the 2018 vintage we have improved our market communication. One improvement is that we have divided our wine portfolio into three grades, informing to which quality level the wine belongs. The three levels are 'Rare peak', 'Mid range', and 'Solid ground' and these three grades are indicated by the back label and by different capsules.

This wine named 'Sigh up' belongs to the 'Rare peak' level, which is our top grade (above the 'Mid range' grade).

The theme for 2018 vintage was to identify a traffic sign useful in the illustration of the 'Rare peak' grade, in this case a sign offering to climb towards the top to sign up. 'Rare peak' bottles are sealed with a premium nature cork covered with a black capsule with the Sandahl text in gold, see the picture to the right.

Weather

The 2018 autumn brought heavy rains between the 1st and 7th of September, causing some rot in lower parts of our vineyards, which didn't perfectly develop to botrytis. Then the autumn proceed like a farmers dream. There was an almost rain free sunny month from the 29th of September to the 27th of October.

We had three distinct harvest periods:
1. 'Normal harvest' period the 18th of September
2. 'Late harvest' period the 4th and 5th of October
3. 'Ultra late harvest' period the 15th and 17th of October

All grapes was excellent healthy with some grapes having excellent botrytis.

Tastings

  Date 2021-04-14, ahead of spring season.
  Color Middle yellow.
  Smell Very restrained and closed. Compact smell shines through, but here is a grumpy component difficult to assess.
  Taste Don't misunderstand, here is no failures in the taste, very fresh and well-made.
  Judgment We had very few bottles in Sweden when the Corona virus closed the borders, making tasting difficult. But as can be noted from above, there is no need to stress. This wine will hopefully improve to the level of 2018 Oh Deer, and in that case gonna achieve 96 points. Now it denies do offer more than 93 points.
